Town of Lancaster Announces New Town Manager, Jessica Cyr

The Town of Lancaster is pleased to announce Jessica Cyr as the new Town Manager, effective July 15. This decision follows a comprehensive search and selection process that began with the resignation notice of former Town Manager Ben Gaetjens-Oleson.

“We’re excited to bring her on,” said Select Board Chair Leon Rideout.  Select Board member Shane Beattie added, “During her interview, Jessica showed us her understanding of municipal operations which is going to be really helpful to move Lancaster forward.”

In March, the Select Board initiated the search for a new Town Manager and established a five-person Town Manager Search Screening Committee composed of both residents and a Town employee. After a thorough screening process, the Committee presented their recommendation to the Select Board in May who conducted final interviews. Jessica was the unanimous choice.

“Jessica is a strong communicator. I think you’re going to find her transparent and strategic. She is authentic and she is going to be a positive force for the Town of Lancaster,” said Select Board member Kathy-Jean Lavoie. “She has a generosity of spirit, and will bring out the best in us.”

Ms. Cyr brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public service to her new role. Her tenure as a Town Councilor in South Berwick, Maine, was marked by active involvement in the Town’s Comprehensive Plan Committee and chairing the Town’s Downtown Revitalization Advisory Plan Committee. Her leadership in these roles has significantly contributed to the development and well-being of her community, a testament to her capabilities.

Professionally, Jessica’s career in a not-for-profit organization, the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), highlights her adaptability and leadership skills. She has successfully managed an international team and has a robust background in sales, communication, budget management, and financial oversight. Jessica holds a degree in public management and is no stranger to the North Country. She will be residing in Littleton.

“I am thrilled to join Lancaster as your new Town Manager,” said Jessica. “My municipal government experiences and professional career have prepared me well for this role. I look forward to working with the Select Board, Town employees, and residents to continue making Lancaster a wonderful place to live and work.”

The Town of Lancaster will host a meet and greet to welcome her at a date to be determined.
