Road Repair Update

Good morning, neighbors. Lancaster town crews are working to restore roads, and the ongoing effort will take some time. All town-maintained roads should be passable at this point, but conditions still vary. Passable means you can drive a vehicle through slowly, but roads may be limited to a single lane.

Today (Saturday, July 13) road crews are actively working on Buffalo Road and Mt Prospect Road through the afternoon.

Crews are expected to work on Pleasant Valley Road and other roads on Monday, and we’ll continue to provide updates.

Town officials have connected with New Hampshire DOT. The road closure on Rt. 135 may last for three weeks. The cleanup will take some time and we are working with state officials to catalog as much damage as we can. An update will be presented to the Select Board during their meeting on Monday.

There have been some questions about private driveways, so as a reminder under RSA 236:13, all private driveway connections, including structures like culverts, remain the continuing responsibility of the landowner- even if located within the Right-of-Way.

The community has been amazing. Thank you for being so patient while cleanup is underway.
