Budget Committee Member Vacancy

The Lancaster Budget Committee is seeking qualified individuals interested in serving the Town on their Committee to fill a vacancy through the 2025 Town Meeting.  Those interested must be 18 years or older, a Lancaster resident, on the Voter Checklist, and shall submit a letter of interest along with a resume in order to be considered. 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to attend required meetings and recommended trainings;
  • Be able to work productively within a group;
  • Have history in public service and community building;
  • Be comfortable speaking in front of large groups;
  • Be able to receive critical input and respond respectfully;
  • Welcome involvement from all members of the community;
  • Believe in strategic planning and not be reluctant to enact change, and;
  • Prioritize community benefits over personal gain and beliefs.
  • Experience in budget and finance is preferred.

Candidate submissions should clearly demonstrate the above skills and experience.  All submissions are due by end of the business day on Friday, 5/10, and can be mailed or hand delivered to:  “Lancaster Budget Committee, ATTN:  Budget Committee Member Search, 25 Main Street, Lancaster, NH, 03584.  You may also submit by email to townmanager@lancasternh.org, include “Budget Committee Member Search” in the subject line.

Candidates will be considered during an upcoming Budget Committee meeting, date to be determined.  Candidates will be required to answer questions during the meeting so attendance is required.  Ineligible candidates and incomplete submissions will not be considered.  Questions related to the process or the duties and requirements of a Budget Committee member should be directed to the Town Manager by email at townmanager@lancasternh.org.
